After more than 20 years of revision, Johannes Brahms unveiled his triumphant Symphony No. 1 in 1876, marking the beginning of his richest creative work. Jennifer Higdon’s beautiful and poignant Blue Cathedral, Mozart’s sparkling Overture to the Magic Flute, and a selection from Grieg’s Op. 53 for string orchestra complete our program.
