Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Bartlett Regional Hospital (BRH) has announced the next round of Fireweed Award recipients for their care and service to the community. 45 nominations were submitted this quarter and four employees were randomly selected for hospital wide recognition:
Patrick Schumann is a House Supervisor Nurse who was nominated by two different colleagues for his excellent communication and leadership skills. Patrick was recognized by both colleagues for his ability to spread joy while supporting units who needed an extra hand during a recent night shift. “We appreciate his willingness to help when needed and the effort he puts in communicating with all the units.”
Luke Taintor is a Diagnostic Radiology Nurse who was nominated by a colleague who experienced Luke’s professional and compassionate care firsthand as a patient. “It’s hard when you work at the place of service, and you see staff on a regular basis. Luke’s calming nature was much appreciated – for both of my services he was a great nurse.”
Rodolfo “Rudy” Echeverria (eh-cheh-vah-ree-ah) is an Environmental Services Technician who was nominated by a colleague for his consistent hard work over his 24-year tenure at the hospital. “Rudy is always willing to help, even when interrupted from his regular route. His efforts over all these years are much appreciated.”
Lucinda “Cindy” Solberg is a Same Day Surgery Nurse who was nominated by a patient’s family for her amazing care of their daughter before and after surgery. “She is competent, considerate, and thorough, and we appreciate so much being able to benefit from her experience and dedication to her profession. She cheered us, comforted us, and reassured us, all the while being so good at her many tasks.”
A celebration event was held on campus and each recipient received a recognition pin, a gift card courtesy of the BRH Foundation, and a designated parking spot for the quarter.
