Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – In an annual tradition, employees of Alaska’s National Forests got outside to capture the beauty and grandeur of the Tongass and Chugach.

The 2023 Alaska Region Employee Photo Contest offered the chance for artistic honor and recognition. More than 500 submissions made it into this year’s competition, giving the judges the tough job of picking the top spots.

Photos ranged from scenic shots to those capturing the spirit of the people living and working in the Alaska Region.

The Alaska Region’s photo contest started in 2016 to gather photos for use in products such as brochures and social media. These photos build the region’s photo library, and the contest encourages friendly competition among staff.

The photos are available on the Alaska Region Flickr page at https://www.flickr.com/photos/alaska_region/ and may be used by the public.
