Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Heavy rain is causing some area creeks to have some minor flooding expected. Flood Advisories are in effect for Jordan Creek in the Juneau Mendenhall Valley and for Falls Creek near Petersburg.
Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected until 8:00 p.m. Monday for Falls Creek near Petersburg and until 8:15 a.m. Tuesday for Jordan Creek in Juneau.
At 8:00 a.m. the stage was 9.28 feet. A crest of around 9.8 feet is expected around 3:00 a.m. Tuesday.
At 9.7 feet water is expected to inundate the Jordan Square’s parking lots.
Some residential driveways will be flooded.
