Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – Volunteers from Friends of the Flags, Tourism Best Management Practices, and Travel Juneau gathered in the early hours of April 27 to install flags from all 50 states along Egan Drive’s waterfront downtown.

The project, begun in 1978 by Mayor Bill Overstreet and citizen Rudy Ripley, is a resident favorite and is made possible through the dedication of volunteers who assemble and install the flags.
