In the spirit of compassion and community, the Southeast Alaska Food Bank is rallying support for the residents of Wrangell, who are grappling with the aftermath of the recent Nov. 20 mudslide.
As a show of solidarity, Alaska Marine Lines and U-Haul of Alaska have generously offered to cover all shipping costs for the collected items, ensuring that the donations reach those in need.
To streamline the process, Juneau Auto Mall by the airport and The Juneau Media Center across from Twin Lakes (3161 Channel Dr) will serve as drop-off points for all collected items.
Drop-off at the Juneau Media Center will be available Monday through Friday during business hours (8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.). The deadline for drop-offs is Dec. 15.
The goal of the food and toy drive is to show support for Juneau’s neighbors in Wrangell this holiday season.
All donated items will be put on a pallet and shipped to the Salvation Army in Wrangell for distribution.
With great gratitude, they have asked willing neighbors to follow the link below for Christmas items.
