Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – 2023 is coming to a close, and the Juneau Police Department would like to remind everyone to have a safe and happy New Year.
The Juneau Police Department would like to remind drivers that while celebrating the end of 2023 brings fun and excitement, safely getting to and from gatherings must be a priority. JPD recognizes that celebrating with family and friends may include drinking alcoholic beverages, and if you choose to drink, do so responsibly and please don’t drink and drive.
“Everyone plays a part in helping to keep our community safe and not put others at risk when traveling to and from social gatherings,” JPD wrote in a press release. “Be focused on your driving, avoid distractions such as cell phones, always wear your seatbelt, and ensure your passengers are buckled up as well.”
Call JPD to report drunk driving. Juneau Crime Line offers rewards for people who call in drunk drivers. If an arrest is made, your name can be put in to receive a DWI reward.
