All short-term rental operators are encouraged to complete their registration as soon as possible to bypass easily avoidable fines.
Register online by filling out an easy 5-10 minute form at shorttermrentals.ci.juneau.ak.us, or download a pdf and submit it to the CBJ Sales Tax Office by email, postal mail, or in person.
On July 10, the CBJ Assembly adopted Ordinance 2023-26(c)(am), requiring short-term rental operators to register their properties with the CBJ Sales Tax Office.
“This step will help the city better communicate with rental operators, ensure fair and equitable sales tax compliance, and measure the impact of short-term rentals on the availability of housing in Juneau,” the CBJ press release states.
