Sitka, Alaska (KINY) – On Thursday, the Operations Manager for Alaska Museums contacted the Sitka Police Department regarding an email bomb threat that had been sent out to numerous museums across Alaska. One of the recipients of the email was the Sheldon Jackson Museum.
An officer responded to the SJ Museum and searched the grounds for any items that appeared suspicious or out of the ordinary. No items were located and it was determined the threat was not imminent.
The FBI has been notified of this incident. This is the second incident this week of a location in Sitka receiving bomb threats.
