Temporary Service Suspension to Capital Transit Bus Routes 5 & 6 Beginning April 22

Juneau, Alaska (KINY)- Capital Transit regrets to announce the temporary suspension of bus Routes 5 & 6, effective April 22, 2024 until further notice.

The suspension is a direct result of current shortages in drivers and maintenance personnel.

Capital Transit chose to suspend Routes 5 & 6 as they have the lowest ridership, aiming to affect the least number of riders during this challenging period.

Affected riders are encouraged to use Routes 3 & 4, which cover adjacent areas and can serve as viable alternatives during this suspension.

Capital Transit said they understand the inconvenience this may cause and are committed to ensuring that their riders can reach their destinations efficiently through other available routes.

They hope to restore service to these routes as soon as staffing capacity allows.

If you or someone you know is interested in working for Capital Transit, they are actively reviewing applications for transit operators and maintenance personnel on a weekly basis.
