Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – The Department of Transportation has temporarily reopened Thane Road for traffic. DOT had previously closed the road last night due to the avalanche risk.
Following this limited opening, a closure is planned to commence at 4 pm and extend overnight. A reassessment will take place tomorrow morning, and residents will be notified to prepare for a potential multi-day closure.
