Juneau, Alaska (KINY) – While in years past, the Juneau Arts and Humanities Council (JAHC) would be busy preparing for the Wearable Art Extravaganza around this time, this year the JAHC has different programs to be expected this winter and spring season. Since the Wearable Art Extravaganza is scheduled for September 21-22, 2024, the JAHC staff are putting effort into new events and old favorites, like Circus Jam, Technically Art Seminar Series, Gospel workshops, concerts, and more.
The JAHC has announced a new program series, Circus Jam, which started with its first session on Monday, January 8, 2024. Circus Jam is described as a movement-based series that focuses on performance, circus aspects, acrobatic yoga, and aerial silks. Sessions are open to all ages and abilities while encouraging participants to let their inner performers out at the Juneau Arts & Culture Center (JACC). Suggested donations are $10 per attendee. Future dates for Circus Jam, which are scheduled for 7 pm to 9 pm, are: January 22, February 5, and March 11, 2024.
