A 30-year-old Texarkana who strangled his girlfriend to death in the summer of 2021 will spend life in prison.  In his appeal to the Sixth District Court of Appeals, Travis Alston Turner argued that crime scene evidence was illegally obtained and his right to the lawyer of his choice was violated.  The court rejected his plea last week, affirming his conviction and life sentence.  Turner is jailed in Amarillo and will be eligible for parole in the year 2051.
