Texarkana’s Sixth District Court of Appeals has denied a new trial for a man convicted of capital murder in the death of a 10-month-old boy.  30 year old Joshua Deshaun Lowe was sentenced to life without parole last year for the 2021 murder of Javonte Neeley. Lowe claimed the boy choked on a hotdog while Lowe was out of the room, but medical staff said the child had likely been a victim of abuse for weeks.  The baby’s mother, 26 year old Christy Wedgeworth, was sentenced to 60 years in December after being convicted of injury to a child by omission for failing to protect Javonte from Lowe’s aggression despite knowing he was physically abusive toward him and his older sister.
