On Friday the Governors of Arkansas and Louisiana declared states of emergency ahead of the winter storm. Sarah Huckabee-Sanders activated the Arkansas National Guard to assist state police and set aside $250,000 to defray administrative expenses of Arkansas’ emergency management division. Locally Mission Texarkana, Randy Sams Shelter and the Salvation Army have set up warming stations while temperatures remain below freezing.
