CHRISTUS Health hospitals in Texarkana and Atlanta have received A grades for health care safety from the Leapfrog Group, a national watchdog that evaluates hospitals on their ability to prevent medical errors and harm to patients.
CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital – Texarkana and CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital – Atlanta were recognized in Leapfrog’s latest safety survey, released today. Only about a third of nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals earn an A rating.
“This recognition reflects our commitment to providing the highest standards of care,” said Jason Adams, president of CHRISTUS St. Michael Health System.
The hospitals have served the Ark-La-Tex region for over a century, recently adding a $17 million emergency center in Texarkana. CHRISTUS also acquired the former Wadley Regional Medical Center this month to ensure continued patient care.
Other CHRISTUS facilities earning A grades include hospitals in Longview, Marshall, Tyler, Sulphur Springs, and Shreveport-Bossier.
