One or two diamonds are found almost every day at Murfreesboro’s Crater of Diamonds State Park. Since becoming an Arkansas state park 50 years ago visitors have unearthed over 75,000 gems, nearly 800 this year alone. The largest found at the park was a 9-carat stone found on Labor Day 2020; the second largest, a pyramid-shaped 4.87 carat diamond was found last spring by a Jonesboro area man.
