Quinton Rashad Brown, 28, from Lewisville, Ark., faces serious charges after a reckless incident in Texarkana. Last week, Brown allegedly drove his gray Chevrolet Impala through a red light at the intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd. and Texas Blvd., colliding with a cement truck. The impact caused the truck to tip over onto its side.

Instead of taking responsibility, Brown fled the scene on foot, leaving behind the injured truck driver. The driver was rushed to the hospital with suspected back and shoulder injuries. A passenger in Brown’s Impala could only provide limited information about him.

Aaron Ragland from the Bowie County District Attorney’s Office tracked Brown down to Wadley Regional Medical Center. Brown was then seen leaving as a passenger in a blue Dodge Charger. Ragland, along with the Texarkana Texas Police Dept., intercepted the Charger near Kidtopia park after a chase.

Brown claimed he ran because he lacked a driver’s license and feared having a warrant out for him. He was released on a $15,000 bond the following day. Brown now faces a felony charge for leaving the scene of an accident, which could result in a sentence of six months to two years in a state jail if convicted. The case is under the jurisdiction of 102nd District Judge Jeff Addison.
