Early voting for the Texas Primary Runoff kicks off today.
In northeast Texas, incumbent Gary VanDeaver is seeking re-election after a decade of service in the Texas House of Representatives.
His opponent, Chris Spencer, a business owner from north Texas, has received an endorsement from Governor Greg Abbott.
Early voting continues until May 24, with the runoff election scheduled for May 28.
