Jerry Jones Trial Ends Abruptly

The breach-of-contract trial involving Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Alexandra Davis concluded abruptly on Tuesday, just halfway through its second day

The breach-of-contract trial involving Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and Alexandra Davis concluded abruptly on Tuesday, just halfway through its second day. After a long lunch break, Judge Robert W. Schroeder III announced that the case, along with all related cases, was dropped with prejudice, meaning they can’t be refiled. The central contract will remain enforced.

Alexandra Davis, who had filed a paternity suit against Jones in March 2022, agreed to drop her cases, including an earlier dismissed defamation suit. Jones thanked the jury and expressed his appreciation for working mothers, including Cynthia Davis.

Outside the court, both parties expressed satisfaction with the resolution. Jones’s attorney, Chip Babcock, confirmed no additional settlements were made, calling the outcome a win for everyone. The case was resolved after a lunch meeting between Jones and the Davises.

Jones’s scheduled testimony and those of his family members were avoided due to the resolution. The trial, initially expected to last until later in the week, concluded early. The Cowboys’ training camp address by Jones was delayed due to “scheduling conflicts” but will now occur on Saturday.
