Texarkana’s *Keep Texarkana Beautiful* program is now officially affiliated with the State of Texas. The program, originally launched in 2010, became inactive but was revived by city leaders about two years ago.

“We had to complete many litter surveys and organize various events, so we’re grateful to be part of the program now,” said Brooke Stone, a representative of the City of Texarkana, Texas.

Keep Texas Beautiful, a statewide organization, focuses on litter prevention and community beautification. The local branch aims to educate and engage residents in environmental improvement efforts. Joining the state organization allows them to apply for grants and collaborate with other affiliates.

Their first cleanup project is set for Saturday, Sept. 28, targeting the Beverly, New Town, and Rose Hill areas.
