Texarkana, Texas police arrested a man after Facebook and Instagram reported alleged child porn uploads from a Texarkana IP address.
On April 10, Angel Hernandez, 20, of Texarkana, Texas, was arrested by the Texarkana Texas Police Department (TTPD) for the alleged possession of child pornography.
According to TTPD, both Facebook and Instagram discovered videos of suspected child pornography had been uploaded to the platforms and immediately reported the illegal posts/messages to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Shortly after, the tips were forwarded to TTPD because the IP address of the computer from which the videos were posted was located in Texarkana. A detective was assigned to the case and immediately went to work to identify who allegedly was responsible for the videos. After several weeks of tracking down leads and following up on electronic evidence, the investigation led to Hernandez as the suspect.
Based on probable cause, a judge issued a warrant for Hernandez. The investigator arrested him a few days later after recognizing his vehicle pulling into a local business parking lot.
Hernandez is currently being held in Bi-state Jail, where his bond was set at $100k
