The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a deadly hit-and-run near the intersection of US-82 and CR 3111, west of Malta.
According to officials, the incident happened early Monday morning around 5:45 a.m. A 44-year-old man was pushing a motorcycle along the shoulder, heading west toward DeKalb, when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The vehicle fled and remains unidentified. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Texarkana Highway Patrol Communications Office at 903-255-5701.
