Darquales McHenry, 35 charged with murder in the death of Johnny Robinson, 52, of Texarkana, Texas, has been acquitted of murder by a Bowie County jury. They took just 29 minutes to reach a unanimous verdict on Thursday.
Eric Marks, McHenry’s court appointed attorney, said that lack of physical evidence helped the jury reach its verdict.
McHenry and Cedric Ballard, 53, were arrested in April 2022. Investigators allege the men conspired to attack Robinson over some type of disagreement. Ballard is scheduled for trial in February 2024 and remains in the Bowie County Correctional Center with bail set at $1 million.
