Miller County Reminds Public of School Bus Safety

The Miller County Sheriffs Office reminds you that the beginning of school is fast approaching.

The Miller County Sheriffs Office reminds you that the beginning of school is fast approaching. Be mindful of children entering and exiting buses. The majority of the buses in our county are equipped with stop arm cameras. These cameras are designed to protect the children if someone decides to not stop when they are supposed to. They capture images of the vehicle and plates during the duration of the time the stop arm is out. Schools are reporting these violations to the School Resource Officers and traffic violations are being issued for the vehicle. Those tickets are $635 for the first violation. See the attached image for the correct procedure when approaching a stopped school bus or when following a school bus.
