A number of new laws took effect yesterday in Arkansas.  The top personal and corporate income tax rates drop by 0.3%.  Maximum potential unemployment benefits are reduced, anyone who files an unemployment claim must make at least 5 job contacts each week and benefits can be denied for failure to accept suitable work within 5 days or not showing up for at least two scheduled job interviews.  Arkansas public high schools and state-supported institutions of higher learning are also now required to have opiod overdose rescue kits.
