A public hearing on water fluoridation, hosted by Riverbend Water Resources, took place Monday at Nash City Hall.
Eli Hunt, Director of Riverbend Water Resources District, shared that the organization is building a new water treatment plant to serve cities in Bowie County and parts of Red River and Cass Counties.
“We’re presenting the pros and cons of water fluoridation at city council meetings upon request,” Hunt said.
Supporters of fluoridation highlight its role in reducing cavities and improving oral health, while opponents cite concerns about safety and personal choice.
At the hearing, most attendees voiced opposition to adding fluoride to the community’s water supply.
