The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department has launched the Safe Celebration Campaign to ensure a safe and enjoyable 4th of July holiday for all residents.

Residents are encouraged to join the effort by looking out for one another, teaching children to respect neighbors, and fostering a supportive community. Respect for the community extends to everyone, including family, neighbors, and public servants.

The campaign is a collaborative effort involving the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department, Miller County Sheriff’s Office, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Fire Department.

Fireworks are a means of fun and entertainment used to celebrate and create a festive atmosphere.

Don’t shoot fireworks in the city limits. It is a violation of city ordinance to discharge fireworks in the city limits. The fine is $145 if convicted.

Be compassionate and respectful towards your neighbors and those who are trying to work to protect your family and friends. Fireworks cause anxiety and emotional stress to animals and veterans.

Shooting fireworks in the direction of anyone including first responders (police, fire, EMS) will be investigated and felony charges will be brought against those committing these criminal acts. Felony convictions for offenses related to the use of fireworks directed at first responders range between 10 and 40 years or life in prison.

Parents are responsible for their children under 18 and can be held legally responsible for their actions.
