Early Tuesday morning, Officer Tanner Toliver of the Texarkana Texas Police Department spotted a car matching a stolen vehicle description. When he turned to pursue, the driver attempted a fast getaway, speeding through alleys. The chase ended when the driver lost control, crashing into a fence near W. 6th Street.
The suspect, 63-year-old Johnny Washington, fled on foot but was soon tracked down by Officer Cole Bredenberg and his K9 partner, Thor. Washington, arrested and taken to Bi-State Jail, now faces charges of Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, Evading Detention, and a probation violation. His bond is set at $20,000.
