Beginning next fall Texas A&M Texarkana’s athletic department will add a coed esports team, competitive cheer and dance teams, bringing the number of varsity sports on campus to 14. Competitive cheer and dance are sanctioned by the NAIA; esports is governed by the National Association of Collegiate Esport and the school plans to build a state-of-the-art esports arena.
