TexAmericas Center has unveiled its annual report spotlighting the industrial park’s profound economic influence on the Texarkana region. The Aspire Economic Impact Report showcases both the surge in jobs created and the annual payroll for employees within the vicinity.
“Last year’s reported payroll amounted to approximately $56.5 million,” remarked Scott Norton, CEO and Executive Director of TexAmericas Center. “We saw a remarkable increase with 1359 jobs on the property, along with an additional 610 jobs generated year over year.”
The data, collected through a comprehensive census of all tenants, underscores substantial growth. Norton emphasized their unwavering commitment to expansion, stating, “We are currently in discussions with over 100 companies regarding potential relocation to our premises. We’ve already secured contracts or letters of intent with several.”
The report heralds the arrival of six new tenants just within the past year, reflecting ongoing efforts to enhance the property’s appeal through strategic investments. A staggering $70 million has been allocated towards infrastructure development and environmental remediation initiatives.
Furthermore, TexAmericas Center actively supports workforce development by collaborating with local universities such as the University of Hope-Texarkana and Texas A&M University Texarkana. Texarkana College goes the extra mile, operating the Texarkana College at TexAmericas Center facility, which offers specialized training for the River River Army Depot and tailored programs for tenants.
With aspirations to generate 12,000 jobs on their expansive 12,000-acre property, Norton emphasized their commitment to fostering high-quality employment opportunities. “Our aim is to create jobs that provide families with substantial income, enabling them to enjoy a fulfilling lifestyle,” he affirmed.
TexAmericas Center is preparing to announce the arrival of at least two additional companies to their property.
