Texarkana, Ark. Appoints Ed Chattaway as New Chief of Police

The City of Texarkana, Ark., has named Ed Chattaway as its new Chief of Police, announced on Friday, Nov. 1. Chattaway, a 29-year veteran of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD), had been serving as Interim Chief prior to his official appointment.

Chattaway, a 29-year veteran of the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD), had been serving as Interim Chief prior to his official appointment. City Manager Tyler Richards expressed “complete confidence” in Chattaway, selected from a pool of 25 applicants.

In his new role, Chattaway aims to strengthen community ties and enhance public safety. He stated that he views the position as a “profound responsibility” and is committed to fostering trust, crime prevention, and making Texarkana a desirable place to live and work.
