A Texarkana man involved in a fatal hit-and-run pedestrian accident in March 2023 has been sentenced to 120 months of probation.
Court records show that Brandon Lane pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident with serious physical injury or death. Lane struck and killed Joseph Miller of Springhill, Louisiana, who was walking in the eastbound lane on U.S. 82 on the morning of March 9, 2023.
Arkansas State Police issued a media advisory with a photo of the suspect’s vehicle, a silver Toyota RAV4, believed to have significant damage. Lane was located and arrested on December 7, 2023, after a nine-month search.
In addition to probation, Lane must pay a $1,000 fine and restitution. The charge is a Class B felony in Arkansas, carrying a potential prison sentence of five to 20 years.
