POL CARE, a non-profit organization in Texarkana, is hosting a summer reading program for kids in third, fourth, and fifth grades. The program will run from July 15 to August 2 at Texarkana College. Registration closes on July 15.
The three-week program aims to help kids have fun while improving their reading skills and reducing summer learning loss. “We want to give them the ability to read, understand, comprehend, and hopefully narrate what they read,” said Evelyn Abhulimen, POL CARE founder & CEO.
In addition, POL CARE will hold a backpack giveaway on August 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Texarkana College for students in grades 1 through 12.
