Shawn Vaughn from the Texarkana Police emphasizes the importance of protecting your child’s personal details just as you would your own. “Protect your child’s information to prevent predators or scammers from taking advantage,” Vaughn said.
Information like a child’s school, grade, age, or class details can be used by those with bad intentions. Additionally, police caution that some posts might reveal clues that could compromise passwords or security questions, increasing the risk of fraud.
To stay safe, parents are encouraged to adjust their privacy settings to ensure only friends and family can view their posts.
