This week, the City launched its 2024 Major Road Maintenance project, which is expected to conclude by the end of August. During this period, the following streets will undergo reconstruction:
– Canadian Street – From Colorado St (S) to W 40th St
– Milam Street – From New Boston Road to W 10th St
– Airline Dr – From Prestige Ln to Southernmost concrete
– Collum Street – From Robbins St to Lumpkin St
Additionally, other streets will receive maintenance in stages:
– Jones Lane – From Kings Hwy to FM 559 in June
– Knotty Pines Street – From Clear Creek Drive to Knotty Pine Place in July
The Major Road Maintenance project, initiated in 2018, has significantly improved roads such as Belt Road, Cooks Lane, and College Drive. This fiscal year, the City has allocated $980,000 for roadwork, with $872,000 from the Major Road Maintenance fund and $108,000 from the Street Department maintenance budget.
