Texarkana will use a Texas HOME grant to provide safe, affordable housing for low-income homeowners. An informational event will take place on October 22 and 23 at the Bowie County Health Center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Homeowners can learn about eligibility and receive help with the application process. Requirements include ownership of a substandard home in Texarkana, a qualifying income, and current property taxes. The grant also covers homes damaged by severe weather from April 26.
