Texarkana is making holiday shopping fun with a Citywide Elf Hunt as part of a two-week Small Business Saturday celebration. Over 50 businesses on both sides of the state line are participating, offering customers a chance to win prizes while supporting local shops.
Each participating store has a hidden elf with a QR code. Shoppers scan the code and fill out their information to be entered into a prize drawing. “The more elves you find, the more entries you get,” said Brooke Stone, Communications Manager for Texarkana, Texas.
Local businesses have donated gift cards and merchandise for the giveaways. Hints to find the elves are available on the Facebook Event page, and the hunt runs until Friday, December 6. Winners will be announced the following Monday.
“Shopping local has a huge impact,” added Stone. “It supports families and keeps money in the community.”
