Texas A&M University-Texarkana announced the naming of its new Business, Engineering, and Technology Building during a press conference on Friday, November 15. The $45 million, three-story facility, currently under construction, will span 50,000 square feet and is set to open in spring 2026. It will house the Center for Financial Literacy and Investment, mechanical engineering labs, and a 225-seat lecture hall, supporting the university’s growing programs in business and technology.
The building will be named the James C. Morriss Business, Engineering, and Technology Building, in honor of the JCM Industries founder. The Division of Engineering, also housed in the facility, will be named the James C. Morriss Division of Engineering. These honors were made possible by donations from Mr. Morriss’s family, including Cynthia Goerke, and Jim and Cindy Morriss.
President Dr. Ross Alexander praised the legacy of Mr. Morriss and his impact on the pipeline industry, saying the new facility will inspire future engineers and innovators. JCM Industries, founded in 1976, has been a leader in providing quality solutions for water and wastewater industries nationwide
