The Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council (TRAHC) is opening a new art space on Pine Street to boost community involvement in the arts. This new location will offer dedicated studio areas for workshops and activities like painting, mosaics, and ceramics. TRAHC’s Visual Arts Coordinator, Marcus Zwiebel, says the space will let participants design and develop their art classes more easily, with a strong interest in ceramics and clay. The space will also host free-form artistic activities, inviting everyone to get creative.
The Texarkana Regional Arts and Humanities Council (TRAHC) is creating a new art space on Pine Street to expand community involvement in the local art scene. While TRAHC’s historic downtown building offers gallery space, the new location will provide dedicated studio areas for workshops and hands-on activities like painting, mosaics, and ceramics.
Marcus Zwiebel, TRAHC’s Visual Arts Coordinator, explains that this new space will allow participants to design and develop their art classes without the need to reset each week. Zwiebel notes that there has been particular interest from the community in ceramics and clay, especially in wheel throwing.
The additional space will also accommodate more free-form artistic activities, inviting the community to explore and engage in various creative endeavors.
