The trial of 60 year old Ray Lee Cockrell is underway in New Boston. He reportedly ignored multiple warnings about his dogs, who allegedly wounded a 9-year-old boy last year. Cockrell is charged with attack by dog resulting in serious bodily injury and injury to a child by omission. If convicted of injury to a child, he faces five to 99 years or life in prison while the attack by dog charge is punishable by two to ten years.
