Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate, according to multiple news sources. The official announcement is expected soon via a video message on social media.
Harris, who secured the Democratic presidential nomination on Monday, interviewed several finalists over the weekend. Candidates included Walz, Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. By Monday, she had narrowed it down to Walz and Shapiro.
Harris and Walz are set to appear together at a rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday, kicking off a series of five rallies in key battleground states this week.
