Authorities are actively pursuing a suspect in connection with a tragic hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a motorcyclist. The Texas Department of Public Safety Highway Patrol Division has been meticulously investigating the events surrounding the fatal crash, which occurred on May 4 at the intersection of Highway 67 and Kelly Road, just outside Wake Village. The victim, James Robert Wooten, aged 20, tragically lost his life in the collision.

In light of the ongoing investigation, a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Miguel Juarez-Rodriguez, aged 39, on charges of failing to provide aid following a collision resulting in death. The authorities urge anyone with pertinent information regarding Juarez-Rodriguez’s whereabouts to call 903-255-5701 or Texarkana Area Crime Stoppers at 903-793-STOP (7867). A reward of up to $2,000 in cash is being offered for information leading to his apprehension.

According to officials, Wooten was traveling westbound when he was struck by an eastbound truck. The impact propelled Wooten into a nearby ditch, where he was later pronounced deceased. The truck involved fled the scene, heading north on Kelly Street. Troopers have identified the suspect’s vehicle as a 2016-2019 dark blue Nissan Titan Pickup, noting damage to the front.
