Hope, Arkansas residents will pay more for water and power beginning next year. After five years of no increases, electric rates will go up 1 percent per year for the next five years while water rates will increase by 15 percent next year and 3.5 percent per year for the following four. The utility says it needs more revenue to become eligible for better terns on a $7.5 million bond to pay for an EPA-mandated project. Broadband internet rates will not change.
