A Walmart theft turned into an unexpected swim for a Texarkana woman on Monday. Officer James Harris responded to a theft report at Walmart on New Boston Road, where Amber Taylor allegedly walked out with a new television without paying. Minutes later, she was spotted in a nearby Lowe’s parking lot with the TV in a shopping cart.
When Officer Harris approached, Taylor abandoned the cart and tried to run but ended up diving straight into a pond behind a fence. Soaked and likely realizing her escape attempt had failed, she returned to officers and was arrested for theft and evading arrest.
