An Idabell woman riding a lawn mower died Friday afternoon when she was hit by the wing of an airplane near the Broken Bow airport. A mother of three, 27 year old Samantha Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene from a head injury. 70-year old James Baxter was landing a single-engine plane and told investigators he saw Hayes after touching down on the runway. He tried to pull up but hit Hayes with the wing of his plane. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Federal Aviation Administration are investigating.
