Texas residents went to the polls yesterday and approved 13 of 14 proposed amendments to the state constitution including property tax cuts, a raise for retired teachers and billions of investments in infrastructure, research, tech and energy.  Only Proposition 13 which would have raised the retirement age for judges was rejected, with just over one-third of Texans voting for it.  Texarkana ISD’s proposed $189 million bond package passed; that will pay for two new schools, busses, safety and security upgrades.  A school board election in Fouke is going to a runoff between Robert Patterson and John Attaway.
